After going through about 10 songs though, when I would press next track (with shuffle on), the program would freeze up and not respond, requiring a force quit. This behavior was duplicated. I uninstalled it, verified that ogg files wouldn't play, reinstalled it, they worked fine for a while, then after a bit they started locking up the program when they would be encountered in the shuffle.Arek KorbikArek Korbikhttps://gitlab.xiph.org/xiph/xiph-qt/-/issues/1202Download server down2008-11-14T12:56:19ZGitlab BotDownload server downNone of your downloads are working(404). Although poorly documented, pretty much all (Apple) export components support this. Basically, the fix is simply to return noErr instead of err at the end of configure_stream__video (in stream_video.c).
The patch also has a few added lines of code that set the values of the structures being passed to InvokeMovieExportGetPropertyUPP. This also isn't really documented, but it's done by most export components. This way, the user can change only one value of the structure (e.g. key-frame-rate) without touching the rest.
Finally, I added a InvokeMovieExportGetPropertyUPP for movieExportUseConfiguredSettings which does nothing, but reminds you that ideally, this should be checked. When set to true, you should use the preconfigured settings as a starting point for the configuration. When set to false, you should use the component's default values as a starting point.
Cheers!

After upgrading to 0.17 however, I have noticed that iTunes and Quicktime-player become unresponsive when I try to play at least some (maybe all) of those files (e.g. Track 01) - I also do not hear any audio.
After downgrading to 0.15 everything works fine again.
Other Ogg/Vorbis files work fine with 0.17, though, e.g. those included with the game "The Battle for Wesnoth" (http://www.wesnoth.org).
Restarting the system did not help, btw.

The projects are in DV Widescreen format and their contents were imported from a video camera. Their resolution is 1024x576 or something like that.
So I downloaded and installed XiphQT. Everything works as I expected, as it is very easy for me to create an OGM file with a very decent quality. Unfortunately, the resulting files are still too big for redistribution.
I need (want) to scale down the videos to half the size. And I can't see any way to do that from XiphQT's interface. (Of course I could do that later... but that means recoding the video once more, thus losing more quality.)
However, if I select I want to create a QuickTime Movie, the interface has a 'Size...' button that lets me specify the size and aspect ratio of the resulting movie.
Based on my (very poor) understanding of OS X's frameworks, adding such a feature to the interface should be fairly easy. So this is a request for such a feature :-)Arek KorbikArek Korbikhttps://gitlab.xiph.org/xiph/xiph-qt/-/issues/1177Flac open in Quicktime but not in iTunes2007-05-30T07:02:49ZfgounelasFlac open in Quicktime but not in iTunesThe summary pretty much describes my problem. * better quality at all bitrates versus libvorbis-1.1.2 ![2], giving aoTuV better quality than other codecs (AAC, MP3, MPC, WMA, ...) ![3];
* support of quality down to -2 (32kb/s at 44kHz stereo), versus -1 (45kb/s at 44kHz stereo) of libvorbis-1.1.x;
* encoding speed 10% better thanks to the included Vorbis-OptSort patch (improve ordering loop).
aoTuV Release 1 is the 'stable' release, while aoTuV beta 5 is the latest 'beta' release. aoTuV version have been tested and found to have a better quality by the audio community (especially on hydrogenaudio forum ![4]) and this is the reccomended vorbis encoder ![5].
Note that, e.g., ffmpeg2theora binaries already includes aoTuV beta 5 patch.

Very nice plugin. I love it already. Ogg-files work, however I can't seem to get flac-support in iTunes at all. Trying to drag a folder with falcss into iTunes does nothing, and trying to drag flac files directly shows a "no-dragging" mouse pointer.
For the record I am using Windows XP, iTunes 7.1.1.5 and the version 0.1.5 of the windows build of the Xiph QTComponents.
I'm sure I can recode my flacs to aac or what not, but it would be really neat to have native flac support :)Arek KorbikArek Korbik
